SOAR
Being piano lead has it's downfalls. Firstly, it's rare to have a piano led band. Usually, the piano isn't much of a spotlight and so is not usualy heard. Secondly, my voice doesn't have much liking to me. And finally, doing piano and voice feels pretty pointless when I lead - but I'm so comfortable with my piano that I'm too shy to ask for guitar. I mean, I CAN play guitar, pretty decently too. It's just I'm so much better at piano. At the same time, Jonathan intimidates me, in a POSITIVE WAY & it'd be cool if we all have a jam session.

School is a vicious cycle once again.

So there's been talk of a Missions trip during the first week of the Olympics. It's called SOAR, downtown, but we'd be out early morning and late at night with a similar agenda to Costa Rica. This one is majorly calling me. The summer one in Kentucky U.S. isn't as much because it's all constrction, and I'm not build for construction, and God isn't calling me to do that. I WANT to go to this SOAR missions trip, so badly, but it's during school, a whole week of it. I want to go, it's my priority - but no way would I be able to, I mean, IB....

Pray for me. I need to hand in my answer by Tuesday night.

Certain paranoia has been constantly brought up today thanks to certain school subjects.
*I lost my glasses yesterday but hip hip hooray I found them!

I write this entry while it pours rain and as lightning strikes outside, oh, and hail the size of regular ice cubes drop from the sky.

I have to complain how my biology teacher marks. Biology is the easiest and most laid back class of IB. However, the teacher is the hardest marker. She's so specific on what is needed on tests but what she teachers is irrelevent to the test. It's not really fair... She could at least word the questions better, or teach what is on the test. And I'm not just complaining about paper 2 - even the multiple choice and Part A of Paper 2's written. Like.. she picks and chooses which points are wrong and which are right.

:( Maybe I'm just complaining because I passed my last test with a 62%. I feel really stupid about it, I missed 4marks and 3marks worth questions out of stupidity. The word "deduce" is going to haunt me for a while. I KNOW ITS DNA DNA RNA, and it's TRUE that virus' DO have DNA not just RNA.... and I know the difference between RNA and DNA - I could tell you right now. :( but as long as I don't answer the right question then it's just as bad as not knowing.

Band practice on Sunday. :)

I miss Faith, she was visiting this past week. It's nice having a 5 year old running around playing. We had her 5th birthday party here, princesses galore. Of course I play with her too. She's so smart, she told me the 1 and 2 times table, and can count to 10 in Spanish, AND she's teaching me colors in Chinese.

Faith's visiting right now, but she's watching TV. It's the "fall" and there's lots of homework to do. I just found myself here, knowing that the journal needs updating and homework needs procrastinating.

Tuesday was a good night. After all those band practices, we finally got the chance to perform and lead worship. It was a blast - leading. Steph, Diamond, and Colin were there, and, oh dear journal, do you remember Andy? Andy was there too, but he was there for Bjay. Still. Unfortunately, we didn't get to play Majesty - our best song - but we can always do that next time.

Yesterday, Heavy Metals whizzed through Surrey Central. Steph and I got matching flannel blouses for $5 - the lady accidently made a mistake and gave us the wrong price. It was nice to see Steph this week, I was really happy to see her. I felt so comfortable in this element, not like school.

Must reformat the DS.
Need new layout - this banner is too big for my liking. I like [info]howswtthesound 's layout. It's so easy to read.

It's winter soon. Must stock up on more leggings.

Notice I have not updated often in the last weeks.

CLASS: I can't say a lot has been happening lately. My friend was telling me his thoughts about our English Class: it's a true IB class. It's the only class that really demands work, and not studying. Spanish demands studying, especially when you get that slap of a 25/30 on your composition test. English, for example: how about a commentary next Monday, where you analyze and make up stuff on the spot and turn it into an essay? Or a group presentation, well, more of a lecture? Or even a practice world literature assignment: a link essay, where you write about paralells to two different books written in two different languages and time eras? I'm sure if the original author read our essays, they'd learn stuff they didn't even know they were aware of when writing the book.

That Bio 11 I took back in grade 10 really helps. Wish I did Chemistry too, but what use is Chemistry? Chemistry will be obselete in 15 years, when I finally have a career and will need it.

CLUBS: One day we watched Disney song/videos in Spanish for Spanish club on the projector. GOTTA SEE POCAHAUNTAS AGAIN. AND~ I got to "show off" some guitar skills at this new guitar club at school. Unfortunately, I missed a super-important IB meeting at lunch. Oh well. But honestly, compared to other students, I'm the one that slacks off the most in terms of work. I mean, I do do my part in group projects and participate a lot in class but... IB doesn't really capture my attention. That guitar does.

RUMOUR: I heard regular students sleep at night.
Well, I sleep in the car (about 40 minutes?) and sleep at night around 8, so it's not THAT bad. And I do my homework when I'm not standing outside in the rain and wind waiting for the ride. I'm grateful though, better than bussing or walking home.

EMBARASSING MOMENT: having your 'aunt' surprise you at school. I was late for class because I had to run down to the office. Lucky I had yesterday's sweater dress I decided not to wear hanging in my locker. But WHAT ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO SAY TO THE MALE VICE PRINCIPAL WHEN YOU NEED TO SEE THE NURSE?

YOUTH: The one day I can go, Diamond misses. Anyway, it was refreshing. I'll be there next week anyway, it's our band's first performance. I've also trying to to two services, it's a refreshing way to spend a Sunday.
